FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE
(2/01 - Present) Quality Assurance Manager, Nevo Technologies, Inc. Creating a QA Department from scratch in a consulting services business for database-backed institutional information systems. Established and enforced Development life cycle with hard benchmarks, imposing feature and code Freeze concepts, bug review and triage processes. Build QA time into the project thinking and planning. Develop method of marketing QA as part of the client offering.

(6/00-2/01) Quality Assurance Manager, Wheelhouse Corporation. Created QA department from scratch. Defined need for separate QA tools group and QA group for multiple customer website development and deployment. Hired initial staff for both. Developed plans for core website test group that could scale up as customer base required for manual Website functionality testing and load testing with Silk Performer.

(11/99- 6/00) Quality Engineering Manager, The MathWorks. Hire and train classical engineers to train as Quality Engineers and build a team from four to seven. Become part of a team overseeing a vast proprietary automation system. Perform general managerial duties.

(3/99 - 10/99) QA Project Lead, PC Docs, Inc. Plan, organize and manage quality team of 3 -7 QA engineers testing desktop functionality DocsOPEN networked document management system. Implemented successful hiring, training and morale building processes. In first six months met or beat shipping deadline for main release of product and two custom upgrades. Began development of knowledge database and new employee procedures. Company was purchased by Hummingbird who closed the New England office October 99 without warning.

(8/97 - 3/99) QA Project Lead, Dragon Systems, Inc. Plan, organize and manage quality team of 3 -7 QA engineers testing all US releases of Dragon NaturallySpeaking family of speech recognition products. In last year met or beat shipping deadline for 3 releases of main four products plus several specialty products.

(8/96-8/97) Principal Design Verification Engineer, Cayenne Software. Used QA Partner to develop and implement multi-machine automated tests for client-server utilities linking multi-user database design software with a common server repository.

(10/94-8/96) Senior Design Verification Engineer, Data Translation Multimedia group for Media 100 Macintosh based video editing system. Test all phases of product hardware and software functionality, especially import and translation of QuickTime and other graphic and video formats. Wrote test plans where none existed before.

(8/92 - 10/94) Senior Design Verification Engineer and Team Leader, Lotus Development Corporation, for Lotus Improv for Windows Ver 2.0, 2.1 & 3.0; Hired, trained and managed new QA engineers. Tested import and export translation of file formats. Leader of acceptance testing team, Led testing automation project. Wrote new employee guidelines, manuals for test procedures and training program for MS Test.
